One of the few attorneys in the State of New Jersey who combine J.D. and M.B.A. degrees, John W. O’Brien blends legal acumen with practical business experience to provide our clients with effective solutions to complicated legal and business issues.
As an attorney, John has represented our clients in matters ranging from contracts to complex commercial and civil litigation; corporate formation and governance, as well as employment and land use matters pertinent to golf clubs and corporations.
In business, John has started two successful businesses including Trinity Sports Magement, LLC a full service sports agency. Prior to becoming an attorney, John was in sales and marketing becoming a top salesperson at a leading worldwide consumer products supplier where he negotiated contracts with Fortune 500 companies expanding market share and far exceeding sales goals. He has successfully integrated his financial and management background to draft and develop a Hospital’s Safety program, manage ten of its subsidiaries, and assist in a hospital-wide internal audit being the youngest person named to the director level.
John’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business Administration/Finance with a Communications Minor from Villanova University, a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) degree from Saint Peter’s College and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) law degree from Rutgers University where he excelled in non-profit law helping develop a community law clinic as part of its’ inaugural class.
John is licensed to practice law in New Jersey and New York. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Ocean County Bar Association, Monmouth County Bar Association, and the Sports Lawyers Association.
His practice areas include corporate/business transactions, commercial and civil litigation, golf club and sports law.
